Newborn Intensive Care Unit (NICU)
Sometimes infants require specialized care due to medical conditions, including
premature delivery. Our neonatologists (physicians who specialize in treating
infants) and specially trained nurses are available to care for infants
born prematurely or with medical conditions requiring specialized care.
Our Newborn Intensive Care Unit, conveniently located within the Women's
Pavilion, is equipped with the latest medical technology to assist physicians
and nurses in the care of infants. Respiratory therapists, diagnostic
imaging technicians, dietitians, social workers, and other healthcare
professionals work with our physicians and nurses to provide the best
care possible. Our team of healthcare professionals is led by Dr. Richard
Meidell, Medical Director of the Newborn Intensive Care Unit.
