We hope you never need us, but if you or a loved one encounters an emergency, you can count on us to be there for you. Lead by the nationally renowned expert on emergency care, Dr. Richard Bukata, the Emergency Department at SGVMC provides high quality, compassionate care to over 24,000 patients a year.

All of our physicians are board certified in emergency medicine. We use a state-of-the-art computer system to track visits so our physicians can spend more time interacting with patients.

You can't always avoid accidents and illnesses, but you can avoid hours of waiting in an emergency room. At San Gabriel Valley Medical Center, we treat every patient as a priority.  We value our patients' time and strive to keep waiting time to a minimum.  Recently, we implemented a FastTrack service within our Emergency Department to insure that patients with minor illnesses and injuries are treated and discharged as quickly as possible.    

We are also designated as an Emergency Department Approved for Pediatrics (EDAP) through the Los Angeles County Department of Health Services.
